RotorSport UK Ltd is a family owned business started in 2005, and focused entirely on Gyroplanes. At that time Gerry Speich was the Chairman of the British Rotorcraft Association, and was driven to find a solution to the complete lack of factory built gyroplanes in the UK, and and of any real progress in that industry. Steve Boxall and Kevin Robinson, now both instructors on MT’s, saw the first MT’s early in 2005, and encouraged Gerry to discuss the possibilities with the manufacturers AutoGyro in Germany. The first meeting between Otmar Birkner of AutoGyro and Gerry Speich of RotorSport UK Ltd took place in October 2005. Both men saw the potential in the product that could be achieved by joining forces, and an agreement was made. The rest is history! Well over 1000 Autogyro aircraft are now in service worldwide.

Having started as a cottage industry, RotorSport UK moved from Warwick to Shropshire at the start of 2007, and is now located at the foot of the Long Mynd Hills. Our location is around 2km down the hill from the Midland Gliding Club and the large paragliding site situated beside the gliding club. The MGC is a very friendly airfield, and is used for our initial flight testing and development. It has also become home to the annual RotorSport fly-in, normally held in August.
